The leadership team comprises of Ian Aitken, Wayne Jordaan and Markus Kaps, who are all highly experienced in their fields. Their experience is grounded in construction, having worked for major contractors, property developers and infrastructure providers.
Collectively, the Key Projects leadership team have an in-depth knowledge of the property industry as well as its challenges, and take a hands-on approach to resolving development obstacles.
Key Projects have offices in Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Nelspruit, managing projects from these bases throughout Southern and Central Africa.
KEY PEOPLE
IAN AITKEN
Ian is a qualified Civil Engineering Technician, has 25 years experience ranging from civil and structural engineering projects on mines to major building projects.
He spent 18 years with one of the major South African construction companies. Ian completed, amongst others, a 100,000 m² building project for the SA Government, before moving to Botswana. He started Concor Construction Botswana and managed the company, running major building projects ranging from housing and retail to high quality office blocks. On returning from Botswana, he was responsible as a contracts director for numerous building projects throughout South and Southern Africa.
Ian is a highly experienced project development specialist, and is involved in the assembly, management and delivery of billion dollar property developments around Lanseria Airport in South Africa and in Lubumbashi in Democratic Republic of Congo.
WAYNE JORDAAN
Wayne has a BSc Building degree obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) obtained from Oxford Brookes University in the UK.
He has over 16 years of direct construction experience and has managed many contracts ranging from mass residential projects to large industrial and commercial projects, such as the new Domestic Terminal at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport. Previously a senior contracts manager and regional manager at Concor, Wayne is well equipped to project manage a diversity of project types.
MARKUS KAPS
Markus is a BSc (Construction Management) and Henley Management College, MBA graduate and a Member of the UK Association of Project Management.
His experience is founded on 14 years in construction as a contracts and regional manager. More latterly he has returned to South Africa after 7 years in the UK working at Heathrow as a Project Leader on Terminal 5 and leading the development of the airport’s long term development strategy.
Markus is an experienced development and project manager and focuses on the assembly and design phases of projects. His experience and knowledge ranges from programme management and project controls, delivery of mega projects, relationship based procurement and long term strategic airport planning.
