Our efforts to explore opportunities in Africa are now coming to fruition as we gain traction in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are quickly learning and gaining invaluable experience in working outside of our borders.

Key Projects are actively working on a number of projects, in this newsletter, we introduce two projects: an airport in Equatorial Guinea and a mixed use development in DRC.

Key Projects are part of a South African consortium appointed by Geproyectos, an Equatorial Guinea Government project delivery agency to carry out a review and audit of an existing greenfield airport contract. We drew on our mega project and specifically airport experience to establish failures and recommendations to resolve an impasse between the client and prime contractor.

Some of the complexities we have overcome include: a contract in French, the local language there is Spanish, the contractor is German and our home language is English. Furthermore the contract is based in Euro's whereas the local currency and basis of payment is the CFA Franc.

Mega projects require a high degree of control and governance and require robust project management processes and systems to ensure control and predictable outcomes. Key projects have significant experience in managing large projects and have the knowledge and experience to effectively manage our clients' risks.

The African continent boasts natural resources and is the last of the emerging markets – investors have taken note, capitalising on the African renaissance. Reflecting this is the thriving economy of the DRC, mainly driven by its mining sector, comprising rich natural resources such as copper, cobalt, diamonds, gold, uranium and many more.

Key Projects is proudly partnering Amari Land in this ground-breaking development offering a total urban living and working lifestyle in close proximity to the international airport and Lubumbashi CBD.

In the context of working in a country rated as one of the most difficult to do business in, we have been instrumental in resolving a number of the development's challenges including, land tenure, procurement of products and services and logistics.

Key Projects prides itself in the relentless pursuit of client satisfaction; our primary motivation is to ensure our clients' business objectives are met. Our philosophy is borne out of developing a relationship with both our client and the team that we facilitate to deliver a project's objectives. Our approach to project management is founded on the principles of collaboration and working together to deliver outcomes that add value to our client and ensure predictable outcomes on every project.

As we look back and reflect on a milestone year in our country's history, we wish all our clients and colleagues Season's greetings and best wishes for a happy and fulfilling New Year.
