With less than 75 days to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ we are getting into the spirit of this once in a lifetime event.  It is incredible to think that shortly we will witness history in the making with the stage set for the beautiful game to show its most prized talent.

The stadiums are now largely complete and South Africans can be tremendously proud in their achievements in creating these world class facilities.  Our country has benefited once before from the 1995 Rugby World Cup that provided the catalyst to build a nation, we call on all fellow South African’s to join together by making this event our finest hour and once again catapult our fledgling democracy to new heights.

Stargate Entertainment Events have called on Key Projects to deliver two entertainment event facilities, that kick off at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ at Monte casino in Johannesburg and the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

Stargate Galaxies are state of the art event complexes, designed and pre-manufactured in Germany at cost of over R450m. The Galaxy is a first of its kind concept and structure in the world.  Designed to offer discerning corporate and public consumers a premium, VIP experience with a mix of music, theatre, sport and spectacle.

Key Projects role as project managers has required a highly intense start up to structure the project to suit local contracting conditions.  We are leading the entire delivery, including planning and coordination of the German manufactured shell & multi media and the procurement of design and delivery of the R60m internal fit out works, our target is to deliver this tight programme of works in less than 3 months.

It is evident in our country of the growing agitation in our people with the lack of service delivery.  Key Projects has spent a considerable time researching the shortfalls and reasons for the lack of delivery in the housing sector.  We see the housing sector as a new opportunity to ply our skills and make a difference to fellow South African’s lives.

Our approach is based upon greater efficiency from a relationship based approach with our delivery partners.  We also understand how government grants and subsidies can significantly reduce a developer’s exposure to the high costs of infrastructure. We are actively pursuing a number of opportunities in this sector and believe our skills will make a considerable difference to successful delivery of housing.
